Basic Strategy: As a rainbow deck, it is often tough to get the right spelss with the correct mana sources out. With Birds, pain lands and City of Brass, the problem is somewhat relieved. Given this, the deck can now operate and hopefully win. Angel Arena is mostly blue green and white, and as the title dictates, uses Phyrexian Arena to get a Desolation Angel out. Before the Angel is played, often times the game is already over after a volley of Spiritmongers, Crashing Centaurs and Nimble Mongoose's are played. If not, there are several removal and counter cards to ensure that the opponent will not have the advantage when no land is left. The largest problem this deck faces is when the owner kills him or herself after tapping pain lands, City of Brass and the Phyrexian Arena. To retroact this, Soul Link and Armadillo Cloak are used to gain back life. Also, the Cloak will give trample to a Monger, make Birds of Paradise stronger and even nullify an oponents creature. Best Moment: Playing 4 blastoderms during 4 consecutive turns. Needless to say it was over very fast.(Before MM Block rotated out) |
